Visas and passports
Passengers are advised to take note, that every reservation of touristic services from Israir requires visas and passports, as detailed in this section below.
It is the responsibility of the passengers (including minors), to hold a valid and legible passport (without ruptures and scribbles), which is valid for a period of at least 6 months from the date of departure from Israel, that covers the duration of stay abroad, and an appropriate entry visa for each country which they intend to visit. In addition, passengers must inform Israir if they are holders a passport or a travel document issued by another country. Passengers are responsible for issuing all the above documents, checking their validity, and paying the required fees. All expenses and/or damages caused due to invalid passports and/or visas will be borne solely by the passenger. The same applies to damages of any kind, which the passenger may incur as a result of any failure to correctly type any passport details, including their name as it appears in the passport, its invalidity and/or non-utilization of their purchased tickets and/or any stay of exit orders issued against them, in which case the passenger will be charged a full cancellation fee as stipulated by law.
For the avoidance of doubt, Israir shall not bear responsibility for any damages which passengers may incur as a result of a failure in obtaining proper visas prior to their departure or during their stay abroad, as well as damages which may occur due to their inadmissibility into any country, for any reason whatsoever, including (but not limited to), a refusal to issue a visa due to the fact that the passenger is a citizen of a hostile country and/or departed the country with a limited passport.
Where a passenger has declared that they are in possession of a proper visa in accordance with the laws of their country of destination, and upon their arrival at the airport were found not to be in possession of such proper visa, the passenger will bear sole responsibility for any resulting damage incurred by them and/or the airline.
Damages incurred by the airline as a result of the above shall be paid by the passenger immediately upon Israir’s first demand. In addition, and without derogating from the passenger’s afore-mentioned obligation, Israir may charge such amounts through the credit card provided by the passenger upon booking and/or by any other means.
Israeli citizens must depart and enter Israel with their Israeli passport only, regardless of whether they have any other citizenship. Entering foreign countries will be according to the identity of the entering person and the laws of the respective country, which may change from time to time.
Passengers are advised that in various countries (such the USA, Thailand, among others), the validity of the visa may differ from the permitted duration of stay. Passengers must pay attention to the permitted duration of stay approved upon entering each country. This duration is determined by the immigration authorities upon entering the country.
Holders of Laissez-passer
Israir’s services are provided to holders of regular passports only. Holders of any other types of documents, such as a laissez-passer and/or any other travel document, must inform Israir in advance, before making their reservation.
Holders of laissez-passer (residing in Israel but not citizens) arriving at Sharm a-Shiekh, are not allowed to enter Sinai and will be deported to their point of origin. Therefore, at this stage Israir cannot allow travel for passengers holding a laissez-passer.
When booking a flight to Sharm a-Sheikh, the airline has no way of knowing whether the reservation is intended for a holder of a laissez-passer; it is the responsibility of the customer to verify that. If a flight ticket to Sharm a-Shiekh is booked for a passenger holding a laissez-passer, Israir may deny the boarding of such passenger, in which case the reservation will be considered as a no-show and the passenger will not be entitled to any refund, except for the airport tax. If the passenger has nevertheless boarded the flight, they will be obliged to purchase an immediate return ticket to Israel at their own expense and under their responsibility.
Transport of minors
Transport of Israeli and foreign minors (under 18 years of age), is done according to the procedure of the Population and Immigration Authority’s procedure for passage of unaccompanied minors through border crossings, which must be followed by minors and/or their guardian and/or any person acting on their behalf. Adults flying with a minor (under 18 years of age) who is not their child, even if they are related, must present a notarized document in English at check-in, confirming that the child’s parent is aware of and approves the child’s flight with such adult; the presentation of the above document is a pre-condition for acceptance for the flight.
