Transporting live animals on Israir flight
Pets approved for carriage on board Israir aircraft (subject to the restrictions detailed below) include dogs and cats only; all other animals are not approved for carriage under any circumstances.
Up to 2 pets only may be taken into the cabin, under the following restrictions:
Pets approved for carriage on international flights are required to have a vaccination certificate, blood tests and entry permits from the relevant authorities at the intermediate, or final, destination.
Carriage of animals from outstations to Israel is subject to the procedures of the veterinary services of the State of Israel, and passengers are obliged to inform themselves of such procedures and present the required documentation.
Animals displaying clear signs of disease will not be approved for carriage.
Captains have the authority to instruct that animals be offloaded from the flight, if such an animal significantly interrupt, or has interrupted, other passengers.
Animals (dogs and cats only) weighing up to 8 kg (including the container) will be approved for carriage in the cabin only, together with an accompanying passenger, provided they are carried in a soft ventilated kennel and when the animal is contained in such a container, and provided further that the dimensions of the container do not exceed 40x40x21 cm and it can be stowed under the seat in front of the passenger. The reservation agent must be informed in advance.
Passengers who arrive at the airport without a standard bag will be offered the option to buy a bag for an extra fee (at stations in Israel only).
Two pets may be carried in the same kennel, provided that their total weight, including the kennel, does not exceed 8 kg, and that they can be kept in the same container without interrupting the other passengers.
Animals (pets) weighing more than 8 kg (including the carriage container) will not be approved for carriage on board or in the cargo holds.
Service animals (such as guide dog accompanying a blind passenger) may be carried in the cabin at no extra charge.
Service animals accompanying a trainer may be carried in the cabin at no extra charge, but require the presentation, upon making the reservation, of a certified trainer certificate or a confirmation that such dog is being trained to serve as a service animal.
Costs of transporting of a dog / cat (up to 8 kg including cage) in the cabin:
Domestic flights - NIS 40 one-way
International flights - $70 one-way
